Support at Diagnosis
The first response that many people have when they receive a diagnosis of cancer is of shock. They can feel as if their life is out of their control and they worry about whether they will survive. Some people can feel alone, others feel plagued by questions from loved ones that they can’t answer yet. It’s normal to ask, “Why me?” and feel angry, to be frightened of what is to come. There may be practical worries too. All this at a time when decisions have to be made and information absorbed. Even if you feel out of control, there are ways you can take charge, support can help you with that.
